Chairman of North Tyneside Primary Care Trust
During her tenure Sokhjinder provided leadership and direction to the board and the executive team through a period of considerable change. The role involved overseeing the development and progress of health services to meet the needs of local people, by working with key stakeholders, partners, GP services, community nurses and therapists, dentists, pharmacists and opticians within a budget of circa £345m and with a workforce of 750 staff.
Sokhjinder has also been a member of the Local Strategic Partnership Executive for North Tyneside and chaired the Health & Wellbeing partnership.
Non-executive Director of Yorkshire Housing Group and a member of the audit and performance committee of the Group.
The Group is a not-for-profit family of housing organisations providing homes and services for people living in and around Yorkshire. The group controls six subsidiaries and has a turnover of circa £50m.
Independent Board Member - South East Northumberland North Tyneside Regeneration initiative (SENNTRi)
A regeneration partnership. Through the management and delivery of a number of projects its aim is to create an attractive and connected area that provides maximum economic and social benefits for residents and businesses of South East Northumberland and North Tyneside.
Sokhjinder has also acted as an external advisor to the University of Westminster for their MA Housing and MA Housing Practice courses.
