Head of Continuous Improvement for the Housing Corporation
- Leadership and governance: responsible for the housing association sector's continuous improvement policy, community and resident engagement and national performance indicators as well as speaking at national and regional conferences and seminars.
- Leadership, policy evaluation, development and implementation: carried out a review of the tenant and resident involvement policies and subsequent implementation of the new policy.
- Regulatory requirements: developed and implemented a number of new regulatory requirements, reviewed the residents' charters and carried out a wholesale review of the Corporation's regulatory circulars.
- Leadership, policy development and implementation, community and resident engagement: initiated a high profile and contentious project looking at the costs and benefits of resident involvement and worked with the Audit Commission in producing its report 'housing improving services through resident involvement'.
- Policy development and implementation and performance management: led on work to produce guidance for improving information systems within housing associations and the associated development of the framework and the requirement for associations to have their performance management systems validated.
- Performance management and improvement: oversaw the development of the Corporation's Bank of Good Practice to support its regulatory code and the development of a continuous improvement tool-kit for regulators.
- Publications: in partnership with Dr Richard Walker of Cardiff University produced a paper for the sector that set out the key levers, measures and challenges of continuous improvement and was responsible for the dissemination of key messages to the sector. Managed a number of 'innovation and good practice' grant projects and publications.
The Housing Corporation is a non-departmental body responsible for investment and regulation of circa 2000 housing associations in England.
