- Extensive awareness of the sector nationally, in terms of government policy priorities, and at regional, sub regional and local levels.
- Keeping up to date with policy development and implications for the sector is an essential component of my lecturing and research.
- Awareness of the key drivers for government in relation to housing policy development including housing as part of a wider planning and economic development agenda in the regions.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills ensuring lectures, research and reports are written to a high standard in terms of both style and content.
- Highly competent in the use of ICT to facilitate the effective research and presentation of information.
