- Development and delivery of teaching, learning and assessment.
Responsible for the research, development and delivery of module content to undergraduate and post graduate students across a range of programmes in the Built Environment. This process involves extensive research, keeping up to date with policy initiatives and current research outputs from a range of organisations, ensuring the material is presented in an appropriate format and that the predetermined learning objectives are met. Key to this is enabling the learner to engage with the material through the facilitation of experiential learning, enabling the application of theory to practice.
- The performance monitoring and quality assurance of the programmes through internal peer review, validation and external accreditation.
Responsible for regular engagement with professional organisations regionally and nationally, including professional bodies in the sector and higher education, to ensure the continuous improvement and relevance of teaching, learning and aassessment.
- Research, training, consultancy and conference presentations to inform practice.

Leading the School in an initiative to develop and deliver distance learning materials via the internet. This was achieved through the use of a variety of multi media and software packages to ensure an interactive experience that engages the learner, facilitates their understanding of the subject and tests their knowledge.
The creation of bespoke materials for a Masters module on Organisational Development covering the following topics: Organisational Change; Organisational Culture; Organisational Structure; Organisational Learning; Leadership; Management; Strategic Human Resource Management; Conflict, Performance Management; and Decision Making.
- Conference organisation.
Organised, and presented at, a significant regional Housing Conference attended by over 100 senior housing professionals. The key speakers were Jon Rouse, the Chief Executive of the Housing Corporation, Urban Splash, local housing organisations and the University. The theme of the conference was future pressures being faced by housing organisations in the light of current Government policies, specifically The Northern Way. The objective of the conference was to create the opportunity for colleagues in practice, policy making and research to engage in shared debate.
